Weekly Groceries- Under $47

This week I did three transactions and doubled 15 coupons. My total before coupons was well over $75 after sale prices. After coupons my total was $46.86. I think one reason my bill was lower this week is because the milk was on sale for $1.78! You know how much milk our family goes through in a week!

It was hard to restrain myself with all the great coupon matches there were this week! But I had to tell myself that we just wouldn't be able to eat that many Grands biscuits before they went bad, even if they were free! ;-) And I didn't think it was wise to buy $25 more worth of groceries in order to double 5 more Chex Mix or Potatoes coupons since we didn't NEED more. Hopefully they will go on sale another week so I can use those coupons. And if not, that's okay!

What was free? The Cocoa Puffs Combos x2, the Grands biscuits x2, the Stoneyfield yogurt, and the Yoplait Delights x3.

What was $1 or less? The Betty Crocker cookie mixes x4, Betty Crocker mashed potatoes x2, The Chex Mix x4, the Steamers x3, the bread x4, and the chicken nuggets x4 (a special lunch treat--we don't buy these often).

I have to say that last week I made a mistake on the Tombstone Pizzas. I had said that I got them 4/$5 after the catalina, but Kristin emailed me and told me that hers rang up as $4.89 each. I checked my receipts, and sure enough, they were $4.89 each! Grr!

This is especially embarrassing because I mentioned checking your receipts last week because the cashier had missed one of my free cereal coupons. I must have been concerned about the cereal and didn't check the pizza receipt! And as soon as I got home I cut all the UPCs off of all the pizzas to submit for the rebate, so there was nothing I could do about it.

Here I thought I got a great deal, and it wasn't at all. It just goes to show you that no one is perfect at this couponing game and we all make mistakes and have bad weeks. So if you screw up and forget a coupon or pay full price, just remember you're not alone and that doesn't mean you should give up and throw in your coupon binder! ;-)

That's been happening to me a lot lately. Especially at target, my items are ringing up the wrong price. So frustrating!

Good job on the shopping. That's a lot of groceries for $46

And lots of milk. :) :) lol
