Awesome Amazon Wipes Deal!

Sometimes it is so cool what God does for me! I just noticed last night that I was in need of wipes, so I was hoping some would go on sale really soon. I remembered the Amazon wipe and diaper deals I had missed out on in the last few months and sighed. I didn't pray about it or ask God, but He knew what I needed and He answered! He didn't have to do that--that is nothing but undeserved grace from Him!

Needless to say, when I got to my computer tonight I was really excited to jump on this deal! If you need wipes, jump on this quick, because the last several times I've seen a deal like this, it sold out fast and I missed it!

Get a Huggies Natural Care Scented Baby Wipes Popup Refill 216-count (3-pack) for only $10.15 with FREE shipping when you select subscribe and save with Amazon Mom. This works out to less than $1.15 per tub, or less than $0.02 per wipe, a good price, plus it will be shipped to my door by the end of the week with no coupons needed! (I ordered 3 so I won't run low on wipes for awhile--one less stressor!) Here's the step-by-step so you can take advantage of this deal:

  • Join Amazon Mom if you haven't already. It's free and gives you free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping with no minimums on ANY items!
  • Add the Huggies Natural Care Scented Baby Wipes Popup Refill 216-count (3-pack) (sale price is $14.50 from $21.19, but it will go down to $10.15) to your cart by clicking where it says "Save 30% with Subscribe and Save" on the right side under the "Add to cart" button. Choose your quantity and delivery times (I chose 6 months to give me more time to cancel!) and click "Subscribe Now". It will discount your wipes to $10.15.
  • After your order ships in a couple days, you can go back into your account and "manage your subscriptions" to cancel your subscription, unless you want to keep receiving wipes.
Another bonus? If you have free Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks, you can use those to pay for your wipes!
**If you click on the link above and the price has gone up, that means the sale is over! Sorry!

Roundy's Cereal Deal

I was just talking to a friend at church this morning about being due for a cereal deal at Roundy's anytime now, and sure enough, there's one this week! It's for Kellogg's cereal (and also Keebler cookies and crackers). Buy 6 at regular price, get $10 off and a catalina coupon for a free gallon of milk (up to $3). The $10 off will come off instantly at checkout and you can use your milk coupon later or in your next transaction. My experience with the milk catalina from Kellogg's is that it takes off only the amount of milk (no overage).

To find out if this is a good deal, you would add up the 6 boxes of cereal, take off the $10 and then take off any doubled coupons you are using. Then divide that number by 6 to see your price per box of cereal to determine if it is at your "buy price".

Here are some coupons:
Several Kellogg's coupons (after you sign up)
$1/2 Townhouse crackers
There are also some coupons on coupons.com, but they are for money off flour, peanut butter, cocoa, etc when you buy Kellogg's cereal. So unless you were going to buy those items anyway, the ones on the Kellogg's website are better.

So here's an example: buy 2 Mini-Wheats, 2 Crispix, and 2 Rice Krispies at $3.50 each (I'm guessing on the price, but that should be close). $21 minus $10 promo minus $6 in doubled coupons (3 $1/2 coupons)=$5 which is already less than $1 per box, and we didn't even take into account the free milk! Under $1 per box is a "buy price" for me. :-)

**Note that you will need more items on this order to bring it up to $25, but you have room to double 2 more coupons so that shouldn't be a problem!**
Happy shopping! :-)

Annabel Karmel Products

I really like making my own baby food. It's cheaper and I know exactly what baby is eating. It's really not as hard or time-consuming as some people might think, and Infantino and Annabel Karmel want to make it even easier!

The Mash and Serve Bowl is basically like a modern mortar and pestle for crushing fresh fruits and vegetables. I've mostly been using it to mash bananas. I can fit a whole banana (broken in half) in the bowl and mash it in less than a minute. I like that the bottom rim of the bowl is non-slip, and the masher is comfortable to hold. The bowl is easy to hold as well with the green grip on the side, which makes feeding baby out of the bowl comfortable as well. Both pieces are dishwasher safe, but you'll want to let them soak or rinse them before washing, as food bits will otherwise be stuck in the grooves.

The Stackable Food Containers are really nice when you make your own baby food. I've been using them to store individual portions of baby puree, and they snap together because the bases snap into the lids. You can even throw the whole stack in the freezer! The containers are slightly different sizes and stack inside each other for easier storage. I wish the lids snapped together for ease of storage because so far I haven't found an easy way to keep them from sliding all over the cupboard. These store about the equivalent of a baby food jar.

The Freeze Tray is flexible and has a cover, which is nice and makes it easier to stack things in the freezer. The cover doesn't snap on tight, so it doesn't seal the food for long-term storage, but it makes it easy to get the cover on and off this way. I usually freeze my baby food and then store the cubes in freezer bags anyway, so this wasn't a problem for me.

Overall, I love the fun colors of the Annabel Karmel Make it Easy line. It's great that all the products are dishwasher safe and BPA free! I talk about more of her products here. She has also written MANY cookbooks, from baby purees to toddler foods to lunchboxes to fussy eaters and more!

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation. All opinions are my own.

Super Pumpkin Bars

I LOVE pumpkin! I was SO sad that there was a pumpkin shortage last year (though apparently some people didn't notice). Due to the weather, the national pumpkin crop failed and you couldn't buy canned pumpkin all year. Much to my delight, it is finally back on the shelves! Here is a recipe I got from an elderly friend who used to be my neighbor. They are oh so good and easy to make. (I missed them so much I made a double batch and put some unfrosted bars in the freezer!)

Super Pumpkin Bars
4 eggs
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 cup cooking oil (or substitute applesauce)
1 can pumpkin (15 oz)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups flour

Mix eggs, sugar, oil, and pumpkin until fluffy. Stir in the rest of the ingredients. Spread out into an ungreased 15x10 cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes.

Now for the frosting:
3 oz. softened cream cheese
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Cream together frosting ingredients and spread on cooled bars. Enjoy!

Infantino Review: Annabel Karmel

Because I'm an Infantino Test Drive Mom, I received some new products from Annabel Karmel's "Make it Easy" food line to try out. I like to make my own baby food, and have made the majority of our family's baby food for every child. It is so easy, economical, and healthy to do so! Annabel Karmel's "Make it Easy" line of products wants to help you make fresh foods for your baby easily. Each product even comes with recipe ideas!

As with all the shipments from Infantino, these came at the perfect time for baby J! She has started on solid foods, so I've been able to jump right in and try these products. Things I noticed right away are that the products come in bright, fun colors and are all BPA free! Most of them are microwave, dishwasher, and freezer safe as well. I don't know about you, but those are things I look for!

The Steam Release Micro Dish is perfect for steaming a single portion of fruits, veggies, or fish, and you can then feed baby right out of the bowl if you'd like. If you want to steam something to have it ready for later, the valve closes for airtight storage in the refrigerator until you are ready to feed baby.

The Double Decker Mealbox is nice because it stores all together, but opens up to include 2 microwavable dishes with lids, 2 large storage containers with lids, and 2 spoons. When it is full, you can stack the two mealboxes and snap them together. I'm all for products that offer versatility, and I love that they stack all inside each other for easy storage!

The Baby Food Mill is perfect for grinding up a small meal on the spot for baby. It is dishwasher safe, so clean up is a breeze! I have never used a food mill, as I prefer to make big batches of purees and freeze them in cubes. But once baby is older and can eat what you are eating, this would be a handy tool at the table.

With the Puree Freeze Pop Molds you can make healthy, homemade popsicles with fruit puree or fruit juice. They come in a four-pack with easy to grasp handles and a rim to hold in melting juices--genius! As with the other products, they are BPA-free and dishwasher safe. I can't wait to use them in the spring when J is older, and I'm sure her sisters will love using them, too. :-)

I'll talk about more of the products once I've had a chance to try them all out. Now into the kitchen to make some baby food for baby J!

I am a participant in a Mom Central campaign for Infantino and have received various Infantino products as part of my participation. All opinions are my own.
