Scripture Memory

How do you teach your kids how to memorize Scripture? As adults, it can be difficult to memorize, but kids are like sponges and can soak it up pretty easily with repetition. Our kids are in AWANA programs that require them to memorize one or more verses per week. We enjoy using music to memorize verses, and our favorite CD set is 100 Verses Big Kids Can Sing & Know from Wonder Kids Worksop. It is 3 CDs for $9.99 and has just about every verse you can think of and more sung by kids (but not annoying kids!). Many of the AWANA verses are included, and the verses are in the NIV translation. We play these CDs in the car and it's really easy to learn the verses as you sing along to catchy songs.
