Will you be traveling for the holidays? I like to order free samples of products to take on our vacations. They're usually just the right size for packing, and hey, they're FREE!
Here are some ideas of travel-related freebies. If there is a hyperlink, that means there's one you can request right now!
Deodorant
Lotion
Shampoo and Conditioner (and here)
Toothpaste and Toothbrushes
Razor
Feminine Products (and here)
Laundry Detergent
Another source for free travel items is the trial size section at the store. I blogged about getting free (or better than free) travel-sized items (like Shout wipes, detergent, and toothpaste) here.
My favorite places to get free samples from are Walmart and Freegrabber. You can subscribe to Freegrabber in a reader so that you will get notifications of any new samples out there. Save them throughout the year and you'll be all set for traveling!
What free samples do you take when you travel? Do you have any other travel tips to share or questions to ask? I'd like to do more posts on this subject with the holidays coming up. Let me know what you'd like to see!

Congratulations! You won my Yoplait giveaway! I sent you an email. Please send me your address by Wednesday.
We just came back from a 5-day trip to G-ma and G-pas (just a 3 hour car ride). I packed each of my kiddos a little backpack with snacks, activities, etc. Usually I pack a large bag of stuff to share, but making them each their own bag and calling them their "Go Bags" was a huge hit...don't ask me why, but it was!
We don't do a lot of traveling (other than the above mentioned trip to see grandparents), so I've come up with another use for our freebies. I've been collecting freebie toiletry samples during the year. My in-laws do a lot of traveling and visiting, so my kids are putting together a "thanks for the times you come to visit us" basket full of the samples we've collected. It's a way for us to show that we notice and appreciate when they do come to visit...and it isn't going to cost me a thing! (And if you don't want to encourage your in-laws to visit you more :), I'm sure this could be a great gift for anyone who travels alot!).
For flying: Don't forget that even with freebies, if you take them in carry on they have to be 3 oz or less, and to open your sample bottles to pour a little out so they don't explode in your suitcases due to air pressure changes (or else pack them in a large ziplock).
I might recommend those little sample bags of snacks for flight munchies (or pouring out helpings of those many boxes of cereal into baggies).
