My Rainbow store has started checking each coupon for "DND" and manually entering them so that they don't double. Is your store doing this as well? It was a real disappointment on my shopping trip today :(
I had read comments from people about that, but haven't had it happen at my store yet. But I also haven't been there yet today--so I guess we'll see! It certainly will put a hamper on things, though!
I haven't seen that here at my Pick N Save yet....but I understand why if they DO do that. It will really limit the coupons that *do* double though - I see more that say DND than those that don't!
Overall, I was a major coupon ninja tonight. I screwed up my first order pretty massively (it helps to, uh, hand over the coupons. Duh.)but customer service was so nice, and just gave me my money back. Overall, I spent $70. I thought I spent less, but I think I had a math error. No biggie though - next week's going to rock the house in terms of free or near free items. I'm excited about the Fresh Express Salad being 2 for $4 - there's a $1 off coupon floating around out there. Sometimes, I love being a week behind you all! :)

At first I was wondering how you were getting a sneak peek at next week--until you mentioned you are a week behind us! Duh! That would be nice--gives more time to scope out the deals! So does that mean you have your 10 coupon week next week?
I meant to only do 2 transactions tonight (thinking I could double 20 coupons, which is pretty normal for me), but I ended up doing 4 transactions and doubling like 38 coupons! Craziness! Usually when they have the double doubles the sales aren't as good or I don't have any good coupons in my stash, but this week I apparently had PLENTY! I stayed under budget at Roundy's, but went over my weekly budget because of a trip to Aldi. When am I going to learn to go to other stores AFTER my double coupon shopping day??
Jessica - okay, I DID have a math error. I really only spent $52 this week - and mainly on TP, laundry stuff I needed for the stockpile, etc. Our double doubles are always the same week as yours - sometimes you just get the better ad. It sounds so pathetic, but I really look forward to Sunday morning for a few reasons: no running around at all (we do Mass on Saturday night), nice, lazy breakfast with my son and husband (because the baby's a nursling and doesn't care beyond getting a belly full of milk and snuggles), and the new Pick N Save ad for the North region being released. Same goes for Wednesday when we actually GET that ad. Sad and pathetic, but I love me some free/cheap groceries!
I need to start cherrypicking now - we're SO stocked, it isn't funny. And I'm very grateful that the Lord blessed me with a couponing talent: I'm teaching a few friends how and they're amazed at how much they save!
You mentioned homemade yogurt in your other post - which recipe/method do you use? I've tried twice now, and it just doesn't work quite right ever.
I linked to my homemade yogurt post when I mentioned it in the other post, but you can also find it by looking under "crockpot" or "recipes". I use a pot and my crockpot, milk and plain yogurt. That's it! When it is ready to be served, I mix in honey, so M calls it "honey yogurt", even when it is plain. So yummy!
