Wordless Wednesday--The Silent Monks "Hallelujah"

One of the things I love about Christmas is Handel's "Messiah". I sung it in high school and then for several years I enjoyed going to "Messiah Sing-A-Longs" where you could bring your own music and join in the singing during the chorus parts. Unfortunately, I haven't found any sing-a-longs for several years, but I still sing along to the CD at home. As I get older, though, the high parts seem higher than they used to be!

I just had to share this YouTube video of Silent Monks Singing the "Hallelujah Chorus" with you, since it made me smile so much! This group of people found a clever way of presenting the Chorus without singing a single note! What could be more wordless than silent monks? ;-)

Hi Jessica. I think you're local (Twin Cities)??? I went to Southwest Christian High School and my younger siblings go there now. Every year they have an amazing Christmas concert (held in Edina, though the school is in Chaska), and there is a huge "Messiah" at the end with all the current students and teachers, as well as all the alumni, parents, and whoever else is in the audience. There are hundreds of people at the concert each year. It is really awesome to be a part of it. I suggest you check it our next year if you're looking for some incredible Christmas music, as well as a Messiah sing-along. It is always on a Thursday night, between the 15th-20th or so of December. Let me know if you want any more info!
