Rhubarb Berry Jam

If you have a rhubarb plant, chances are you have looked for some good recipes beyond just rhubarb crisp and rhubarb pie. I love crisps and pies as much as anyone, but it's nice to have some variety when you have a lot of rhubarb to harvest!

I made some Rhubarb Berry Jam last summer and it was so good and so easy, I just have to share the recipe with you. I found it on Allrecipes.com while I was looking for another good rhubarb recipe. The girls call it "Rhubarbarian Jam" (has anyone else seen Duke and the Great Pie War several times?). :-)

In a pot, combine 8 cups of chopped rhubarb with 3 cups of sugar and 1 can of blueberry pie filling. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and continue boiling for 10 minutes while stirring. Stir in 1 package of strawberry gelatin and one package of raspberry gelatin until dissolved. If you'd like a smoother jam, puree before adding the gelatin. Enjoy!

So if you like Rhubarb Berry Jam, does that make you a Rhubarbarian? :-)

Wildtree Review and Giveaway

I had heard of Wildtree products before but never tried them, so when Amanda offered to have me do a review and giveaway for my blog, I was intrigued. It was really interesting to find out that the founder of the company had kids with dietary restrictions, and she just wanted to be able to make dinner quickly and easily from a mix--but she wanted them to be nutritious, delicious, unprocessed, and easy to prepare. There was nothing like this, so she started making her own. People started asking for her mixes, and lo and behold, Wildtree was born!

It was really hard to choose a product from their catalog, as they all look really good. But you know how much I love pumpkin, so I decided on the Pumpkin Pancake mix. Pancakes are a Saturday tradition at our house and I love adding purees to our mix, so this was a nice fit for our family. They were easy to prepare and turned out beautifully! They were light and fluffy and absolutely delicious. I only wish I had taken a picture before they all disappeared, because there were no leftovers! :-)

Would you like to try some? Amanda has generously offered to send a box of Pumpkin Pancake mix to a reader of my blog. You have SEVEN chances to win! The first one is required because I need to be able to contact you if you win. Be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry. If you are reading this in email, you need to click through to my blog to leave comments as your entries--replying to me or emailing me does not count as an entry.

1. Leave a comment with your email. Visit Wildtree and look around. What product would you like to try? (Feel free to leave your email in a format like myname at gmail dot com.)

2. Subscribe via email or RSS reader. Leave a separate comment that you are a subscriber.

3. Follow my blog with Google Friend Connect. Look for the lovely pictures of others on the right side of my blog, add yours, and then leave a separate comment.

5. Post this giveaway on Facebook with a link to this page so your friends can enter too! Then leave a comment saying you did so!

6. Grab my button. Put my button on your blog and leave a comment with your blog's address for another entry! You can find the code to cut and paste on my right sidebar.

7. Blog about this giveaway. Post a link to this giveaway on your blog and leave a comment with the address directly to your blog's entry.

This giveaway will close on Tuesday, December 14th at midnight and I will select one winner using Random.org. The prize will be shipped by Amanda and Wildtree.

Amanda will ship the prize to the winner. I received a box of Pumpkin Pancake mix in order to offer an unbiased review. It really was delicious! :-)

Awesome Amazon Wipes Deal!

Sometimes it is so cool what God does for me! I just noticed last night that I was in need of wipes, so I was hoping some would go on sale really soon. I remembered the Amazon wipe and diaper deals I had missed out on in the last few months and sighed. I didn't pray about it or ask God, but He knew what I needed and He answered! He didn't have to do that--that is nothing but undeserved grace from Him!

Needless to say, when I got to my computer tonight I was really excited to jump on this deal! If you need wipes, jump on this quick, because the last several times I've seen a deal like this, it sold out fast and I missed it!

Get a Huggies Natural Care Scented Baby Wipes Popup Refill 216-count (3-pack) for only $10.15 with FREE shipping when you select subscribe and save with Amazon Mom. This works out to less than $1.15 per tub, or less than $0.02 per wipe, a good price, plus it will be shipped to my door by the end of the week with no coupons needed! (I ordered 3 so I won't run low on wipes for awhile--one less stressor!) Here's the step-by-step so you can take advantage of this deal:

• Join Amazon Mom if you haven't already. It's free and gives you free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping with no minimums on ANY items!

• Add the Huggies Natural Care Scented Baby Wipes Popup Refill 216-count (3-pack) (sale price is $14.50 from $21.19, but it will go down to $10.15) to your cart by clicking where it says "Save 30% with Subscribe and Save" on the right side under the "Add to cart" button. Choose your quantity and delivery times (I chose 6 months to give me more time to cancel!) and click "Subscribe Now". It will discount your wipes to $10.15.
• After your order ships in a couple days, you can go back into your account and "manage your subscriptions" to cancel your subscription, unless you want to keep receiving wipes.

Another bonus? If you have free Amazon gift cards from Swagbucks, you can use those to pay for your wipes!
**If you click on the link above and the price has gone up, that means the sale is over! Sorry!
