Our family LOVES eating out, but the bigger our family gets, the more expensive it gets! On the other hand, the more birthdays you have in your family, the more freebies you can get, too! These are some of our favorite birthday freebies, most of which don't even require another purchase, so they are TRULY FREE! Sign up for these restaurant eclubs and they will email you coupons for freebies on your birthday.

Red Robin: Adults get a free burger/entree, Kids get a free kids meal. As part of their eclub, they will also mail you great coupons throughout the year. We love this family-friendly restaurant.

Qdoba: Join the eClub and get a coupon for free chips and salsa when you join and a free entree on your birthday.

Noodles and Company: Join the noodlegram club and get a free dish WITH a protein (meat or tofu), plus a BOGO coupon right away and on your Noodle anniversary.

Cold Stone Creamery: Adults get a free Love It size ice cream creation, kids get a smaller size. Sign up here.

Baskin Robbins: Get a free 2.5 oz scoop on your birthday by signing up here.

Toys R Us: Kids age 2-10 get a free $3 off a $3 purchase by mail by signing up. This has been a fun birthday tradition for our kids, going through the store to find something that is $5 or less.

Fun Freebie Friday!

We had fun scoring all kinds of freebies today! First we went to the mall and got F's 1 year pictures taken and used a free 8x10 coupon. We brought this special rocking chair along and I'm glad we got a good picture of her with it. This was my grandfather's rocking chair when he was a little boy, and F just LOVES sitting in it. She climbs in and out of it over and over again almost every day!

After pictures we went to Noodles for lunch. I got a free meal for my birthday and had a BOGO coupon, so we got 3 large pastas for the price of one and even brought home leftovers! After lunch we had free Orange Julius smoothies for dessert. We enjoyed tasting all three new flavors of their light smoothies. Yummy!

Then I went and used the Bath & Body Works free travel item with purchase coupon (I bought a $1 hand sanitizer and got a free 3 oz. lotion), and then stopped for my free birthday Baskin-Robbins ice cream on the way home (to save for later--I'm stuffed!).

After dinner we got A&W root beer floats for dessert (and I had to save half for tomorrow because I'm still stuffed!). H enjoyed her first root beer float, though she couldn't finish hers either--I thought they were supposed to be small root beer floats, but these were big! I told H on the way home that I hope she has fond memories of scoring free stuff with Mommy when she grows up! She replied that she'll always remember getting a free root beer float!

Birthday Freebie Fun!

We had a couple of birthdays last week, so we took advantage of some fun birthday freebies! F turned 1 and M turned 3! Happy Birthday girls!

First we went to Toys R Us and used M's $3 off a $3 purchase gift card that she got in the mail. This is a GREAT birthday freebie for kids ages 2-10. The girls always enjoy going on their shopping trip to pick out an item or two that come to $5 or less. M picked an Ariel beach ball ($2.99) and some Dora stickers ($1), so our total after the gift card was $1.04. She also got a birthday crown and balloon and was thrilled!

Then we stopped at the mall--it happened to be Thursday and I needed to pick up my Aerie monthly free gift (you can sign up in the store)--this month it was a fitness towel. After that, we got M's free Fresh Fit Kids Meal from the local Christian radio station and Subway. They played a little bit before we had to leave for M's doctor appointment. After the doctor, we went to Baskin Robbins and shared 2 free scoops of ice cream, one for M's birthday and one for F's birthday!

Later we went to Red Robin for a birthday dinner where the two girls got free kids meals, free birthday sundaes and balloons! Red Robin also came out for a surprise visit, which was fun. And because I am an eclub member, they had sent me a coupon for 2 free drinks with our entrees, which was a nice treat!

This weekend we had a cook-out with our small group to celebrate the end of the year and 4 girls' birthdays. Another family had two girls during the same week, but on opposite years, of our last two girls. On the cake you'll see "4, 3, 2, 1" on the balloons. A turned 4, M turned 3, R turned 2, and F turned 1 all last week. :-)

A Birthday Tradition

I've mentioned this before on my Birthday Freebies list, but I wanted to mention it again because it has become a fun tradition for the girls and me. When you sign your child up for the Toys R Us birthday club, they get a $3 off any $3 purchase gift card every year for their birthday (ages 2-10). So every year around each girl's birthday, she and I go alone into the store to pick out a special treasure with their gift card. They know it has to be something they can afford with the gift card, so we carefully comb through the store looking for something that is $5 or less, and it is such a thrill for them! Some things we have found in the past are bubbles, workbooks, glow-in-the-dark stars, a fun sprinkler, a cool pen and pencil set, stickers, and other treasures.

Once they've decided (I usually give them a few choices based on what we've found), we take it up to pay. Then I tell the cashier it is the child's birthday ask for a birthday balloon. The girls are always on cloud nine and can't wait to show their sisters and Daddy what they bought! We obviously see all sorts of other fun things, but I simply tell them that that item is too much and we don't have enough on the gift card to buy that today, so it's also a great lesson on self-control and stewardship, since they can't pick anything in the store.

Never pay to eat on your birthday again!

I had previously posted a list of Birthday Freebies here that was compiled by a friend, and I wanted to add Noodles & Co. When you sign up in the store, they will email you a welcome coupon for BOGO free entree, and you'll also get a completely free entree for your birthday, no purchase necessary! I happened to sign us up a couple weeks before my birthday and got both coupons at the same time, so we were able to feed our whole family there (3 entrees) for about $6!
